Steering Committee and Communication Team meeting for the MED DIET Project “Mediterranean Diet and Enhancement of Traditional Food Stuff”On July 4th and 5th, the FDM participated in the second Steering Committee meeting and the first Communication Team meeting for the ENPI MED DIET Project “Mediterranean Diet and Enhancement of Traditional Food Stuff” held in Tunis, Tunisia. Representatives of partner country institutions from Egypt, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Spain and Tunisia addressed several issues about the project, the progress of the creation of a knowledge system of the Mediterranean Diet, the way to get this information to consumers and schools, and communication aspects.
The MED DIET project is the first project for the promotion of the Mediterranean Diet. Under the leadership of Italy, Spain is one of the six participating countries, contributing three entities as Partners, including the Mediterranean Diet Foundation. The project is part of a Euro-Mediterranean Agreement involving 15,000 consumers and 5,000 children and young people.
