This statistical section contains a short  presentation of the main indicators of agricultural and food development in Mediterranean countries. The data relate to demographic and economic aspects, resources and production means, consumption, and international trade. In view of the fact that few data are available in several countries in the region, in order to ensure comparability we have deliberately limited our data to the indicators most frequently used for population growth, urbanisation, aggregate economic growth and growth agriculture, food consumption and international trade.
