The Mediterranean Diet Foundation launches an App for kids

The Mediterranean Diet Foundation launches an App for kids: "Chef MedDiet", as one of the most outstanding and innovative activities of the European Project MedDiet: Mediterranean Diet and enhancement of traditional foodstuff (www. med-diet.eu).

After a first phase of activities in 10 schools of Primary and Secondary education in the coastal territory of Spain, the Mediterranean Diet Foundation – one of the Spanish representatives of this European Project which also involves Egypt, Greece, Italy, Lebanon and Tunisia - sets this application for phone devices with the aim to turn children among 6 and 12 years into real chefs of the Mediterranean Diet.

The App "Chef MedDiet" consists of a section of training and another one of learning with various games and displays to overcome, where users will find 3 levels of difficulty adapted to their needs to be introduced, in an entertaining and educational way, into the exciting world of cooking with the family.

With this action, the Mediterranean Diet Foundation adds another leading initiative in the task of training the children and adolescent population to acquire healthy habits based on the practice of the Mediterranean Diet.

The project “MedDiet – Mediterranean Diet and Enhancement of Traditional Foodstuff” is implemented under the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme
(www.enpicbcmed.eu). Its total budget is 4.996.972 € and it is financed, for an amount of 4.497.275 € by the European Union through the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument. The ENPI CBC Med Programme aims at reinforcing cooperation between the European Union and partner countries regions placed along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
